ADHD Assessments

Struggling with your attention, concentration, ability to plan and organise, excessive energy and/or impulsive behaviours? Seeking to understand yourself more and learn how to manage? We provide full ADHD diagnostic assessments for people age 17 and above, which are NICE-compliant and led by a qualified Clinical Psychologist. We are currently operating a 2 week waiting list to begin. We also offer screening assessments if you are unsure whether a full assessment would be helpful for you. Reach out below to discuss.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

We follow the NICE Guidelines, which are national standards for best practice in ADHD assessments based on the available research evidence. We will meet for at least three hours in total to complete:

1) A full diagnostic interview using a gold standard assessment tool

2) A full developmental history about your development, medical history and psychiatric history

3) A full clinical interview to explore your life context, mental health, strengths and needs

You will also be asked to complete a range of questionnaires to support the assessment. Wherever possible, an informant will be included - this could be someone who knew you in childhood, such as a parent, caregiver, sibling or friend, or someone who knows you well now. There will be questionnaires for them to complete, and if possible they may also join the interview or be interviewed separately - we will discuss this with you.

You will receive a full report, average 14 pages in length, which summarises all of the findings and an understanding of your strengths, needs and recommendations to manage. You will also have a 30 minute feedback appointment to discuss the outcome, recommendations and your next steps.

It is important to note that we do not prescribe medication, so if you are seeking medication should you receive a diagnosis, we can either recommend a colleague following the assessment, or we recommend you seek a qualified Psychiatrist to conduct your assessment. We provide psychologically-based coping skills and recommendations.

The full assessment costs £950, payable in full in the week of your first appointment. There are no hidden or additional charges.

If you are unsure whether a full diagnostic assessment would be helpful, we offer a 1-hour screening assessment with one of our Clinical Psychologists to explore whether there are any possible traits evident which might warrant assessment or not. This will also include questionnaires for you to complete which we will score. The cost of this is £150, which can be deducted from the full assessment fee should you proceed with a full diagnostic assessment.

If you work for a company and wish to commission diagnostic assessments for your employees and/or neurodiversity awareness training, please do reach out and we can discuss a package.
